The methods are motivated by genetic fine-mapping\napplications, and are particularly well-suited to settings\nwhere variables are highly correlated and detectable effects\nare sparse. The fitting algorithm, a Bayesian analogue of\nstepwise selection methods called \"Iterative Bayesian Stepwise\nSelection\" (IBSS), is simple and fast, allowing the SuSiE model\nbe fit to large data sets (thousands of samples and hundreds of\nthousands of variables).",
